Captain Edwin Davis, Ed.D.
Captain Edwin Davis joined the Precinct One Constable’s Office in 2016 after serving seven years with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office as a Major and retiring from the Houston Police Department following thirty years of faithful and dedicated service. In 1993, he was appointed as one of the Houston Police Department’s first African-American chaplains. He currently plans, assigns and supervises the activities of law enforcement personnel within the Downtown Courthouse Complex Operations Division. Captain Davis is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of personnel at the Harris County Downtown Courthouse Complex and the Civil Division. He carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Captain Davis also a member of the Frequent Courthouse Visitors (FCV) committee.
