Precinct One provides Law Enforcement Services to the Downtown Courthouse Complex. Harris County Precinct One Courthouse Complex deputies are trained in active shooter, critical incident management and special investigations. Not only do Precinct One Deputies provide safe flow of people throughout the Courthouse Complex Buildings, their actions are also designed to reduce the opportunity for individuals to commit crimes within and around the Courthouse Complex.
Unlike traditional law enforcement, which can be classified as reactive, Precinct One Constables are proactive. This means that Precinct One Constables protection of the Courthouse Complex is driven by the elements of deterring and preventing criminal and/or prohibited incidents.
